Audi has reported sales up 2.1 percent this April, with the A5 and Q3 leading the increase.
This April, Audi sold 19,104 cars and crossovers in the US, up 2.1 percent from the same month last year. That was driven by A5 sales more than doubling thanks to the addition of the Sportback model.
But despite an extra 1,162 A5s, a 34 percent increase in Q3 sales, and a five percent boost for the Q5, some big drops in the lineup tempered the gains.
Sales of the A3, A4, A6, A7 and A8 were all down. The A3 saw the biggest actual drop in numbers, down 511 cars from the year before. The A8 saw the largest percentage decrease, down 71 percent to just 83 cars sold. That’s likely because buyers are waiting for the new model to arrive.
Pre-owned sales also showed a big increase. CPO Audi sales were up 20 percent from April 2017.
Audi is also in the midst of a showroom revival. 76 percent of Audi dealers will be in new and state of the art showrooms by the end of this year.
