Audi’s relentless e-tron teaser tour isn’t done yet () and now the brand has taken the electric SUV (prototype) to the Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen to show off its interior.
While very much founded in Audi’s design language, there are a few touches of note. The seats, for instance, eschew the traditional diamond quilting in favor of a pattern that’s reminiscent of a circuit board.
The piping on the seats is also orange, which isn’t just a nice, contrasting color, it’s also designed to remind you of high voltage wires.
Like the A8 and company, it will also feature several infotainment screens for all your informational, entertainmonal needs. While we presume it will be endowed with unique features to fit its unique role in the Audi lineup (battery info, maybe an acceleration mode, mirror modes, etc.) it otherwise looks fairly standard.
The gear selector, on the other hand, is anything but standard. Unlike Audi’s other cars, it doesn’t appear to be hinged, meaning that you won’t have to move the whole handle to change gears. Instead, you’ll have to thumb a button back and forth to choose your gear.
The most unique feature of the interior, though, are the wing mirrors, which aren’t even normally part of an interior. The e-tron, though, will be the first volume production car sold with cameras instead of big, aerodynamically damaging mirrors.
To look behind you, you just have to check a high contrast 7-inch OLED screen on the door, above the handle that can be adjusted for use on the road, in a parking lot, and for turning.
