We’re still waiting for the S and RS versions to join the new Audi A7 Sportback, but while we wait for Audi to officially reveal the cars, we can still spy them testing.
With camouflage and a more mild nose, a 55 TFSI badge, it’s easy to ignore this car as a boring old regular A7. But it’s not. Look closely at the wide track. And the oval exhaust tips. We’re not positive, but we’re pretty sure that this is the RS7 undergoing testing. Plus there’s that sound. No, not the tire sound. That deep engine growl.
Don’t expect that big roll cage to make it to production either. Safety first, after all, but safety first means something different when you’re spending the day on the race track.
That noise is expected to come courtesy of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 from Porsche’s Panamera. Expect around 650 hp.
