It’s so nice to finally be able to write about the RS6 Avant without having to preface every sentence with envy and anger because dang Europe won’t share. But finally, the sound of this RS6 Avant, testing at the Nurburgring, is relevant to our better angels, not just our inner demons.
This video comes to us from Misha Charoudin, who is a Nurburgring stalwart and caught the wagon testing on a snowy day last month.
There isn’t a lot to discern here, since the RS6 drives by in a hurry. But the good news is that it actually sounds pretty meaty.
Unfortunately, we still don’t quite know what’s powering it, but we can assume it’ll share its internals with the RS7, which is also supposed to debut next year as a 2020 model.
What we expect to find under the hood of both—which this video encourages us to think—is that the two cars will get a turbocharged V8 making more than 600 hp. Just how much more remains to be seen, but the Urus’s 641 hp would be a welcome increase over the outgoing models’ 605.
