The RS7 is on its way and we can barely contain ourselves. After veil was lifted on the new S6 and S7, we can’t wait to see where the RSs are going. Fortunate for us then that a first look of sorts is now on YouTube.
The RS7 can be seen—and more importantly heard—testing at the Nurburgring, every manufacturer’s favorite testing grounds these days.
And joy of joys, the sound emanating from its oblong tailpipes is pure bass, suggesting that it will, indeed, benefit from Audi’s 4.0-liter V8—as we all anticipated.
Thanks to the Lamborghini Urus et al, we know that the V8 is capable of at least 640 hp, which would be a fine figure—albeit not quite as big as the 700 hp suggested by the rumor mill.
Still, Audi has been less focused on hp than on torque lately, opting to give the RS4 and RS5 only as many horsepowers as their predecessors, but 100 more lb-ft of torque. The Urus’ 627 lb-ft of torque is a pretty big improvement over the 2018 RS7 Performance’s 553 lb-ft.
We expect to find out for sure when Audi unveils the RS7 late this year.
